Corporate citizenship
Sperian is committed to acting as a responsible corporate citizen wherever we operate, making a point of participating in local community life and recruiting from local labour pools. We reinvest in the local economy of host communities by directly and indirectly creating jobs and implementing corporate social responsibility programs.
All employees are encouraged to become involved in local activities, and regularly take part in environmental, solidarity and sponsorship programs. An increasing number of local initiatives demonstrate our employees’ commitment to helping others, including product donation, volunteering labor, advice, expertise and money, and other programs supporting education or sustainable development. Sperian Protection also contributes to important national and international causes, providing personal protection equipment after major natural disasters such as forest fires (West coast of the US, Australia), or earthquakes (in China, the Group responded to the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan by donating more than 170,000 respiratory masks to the local Red Cross to protect teams assisting victims).
Environmental policies
Even though our production processes have low impact on surrounding ecosystems and consume little energy, our Group carefully monitors our environmental footprint and our use of water, energy and raw materials.
Our recycling policy is one of our ecological priorities and our industrial waste is generally sent to accredited recycling specialists. We are committed to reducing the use of natural resources in our production processes and most of our manufacturing operations involve environmentally-friendly manual assembly.
Our policies for identifying, monitoring, measuring, controlling and reducing risks are based on international practices and recognized standards.
